Sweet Baby Haley~Part 2

So excited to post these.  My friend's daughter just had her baptism and was just beautiful in her gown.  In celebration of her birth and baptism here is a detailed look at little Haley's newborn session.  Cannot wait to be doing this full-time, it is such a joy to capture these images! <3

A Lovely Violet

I really wanted to title this post Red-headed Violet, which would make an awesome name for a band, but I opted for a sweeter title for the sweet little baby girl that I had the privilege of photographing last Thursday.  So this adorable, little red head made a lovely debut, and even shared some of the spotlight with her beautiful big sister!  She was a doll to work with and looked so cozy and peaceful at times that you just didn't have the heart to disturb her.  Was truly a pleasure to meet this wonderful family and I am ever grateful for the opportunity.

Jen's Maternity Session~A Sneak Peek

Had the wonderful opportunity to photograph my sister-in-law's maternity session last weekend.  I am grateful and honored to be documenting this very special pregnancy for my sister-in-law and her family.  We discussed a variety of options for shots and settled on some very classic looks on white and black backgrounds that I'm sure will look beautiful framed alongside some future newborn shots ;-).  We also tried to get a few shots with her son who is 8 already (where does the time go?!).  Unfortunately, her husband had to work but we are hoping to all get together on a gorgeous day very soon for more of an outdoor family session which I'm greatly looking forward to.  But even more so, I'm looking forward to holding my new nephew!!  I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going by, little Evan is almost here!  Posting a quick sneak peek as requested by a very eager mama :-P.  I only have a quick few to show at the moment, but no worries, plenty more to come!

First Look~Sweet Baby Haley

I'm going to make this one brief because I know mommy and daddy are anxiously awaiting their first look at some of the shots we got of their gorgeous baby girl.  Little Haley arrived 2 weeks early and we did the shoot a few days after her original due date. What a tiny peanut she is too, so adorable! 
As for the shoot, due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to shoot that morning as I had intended so our little model wasn't as sleepy as we had hoped for.  But, sometimes those shots of a wide-eyed baby taking in the sights and sounds of the world can be just as amazing.  She did eventually take a peaceful little nap and I took full advantage of the opportunity little sleeping beauty gave me. ;-)
Will post more about the newborn photography experience in general on another day, but there is definitely a learning curve and as with many other shooting experiences I found that you come away with the experience having a good idea of how to improve for next time.
